ANOTHER EXTINCTION…

It was with a heavy heart that we had to announce the cancelation of Blue Sky's Another Extinction performances at Navigate Arts on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March due to COVID-19. Lee Pemberton and Delia Silvan filled the Tanja Church with their creative spirits and bodies throughout our difficult Black Summer, working tirelessly (and funded by themselves as artists and supported by Navigate) to develop a stunning, unfolding performance landscape in the venue.

We did manage to capture some of the magic above (Photograph by PAUL HOPPER) and below photographs by MICHAEL ADAMS.

We look forward to remounting the show as soon as possible.

With Sound DESIGN by David Hewitt

Lighting Design by Matthew Scott

BlueSky dance artists Lee Pemberton and Delia Silvan bring their new work, ANOTHER EXTINCTION to Navigate Arts, Tanja. This strange and hypnotic movement piece traverses many landscapes, unfolding in a space where time has been slowed, where the absurd morphs into the mythic and the imagined into the real.

Author and Director Rodney Hall has donated his time and support as outside eye at key points of the development. David Hewitt has created a wonderful encompassing sound score. Matthew Scott has designed the lighting and provided invaluable help mounting the production of this piece.

The Old Tanja Church is the home of Navigate Arts. A historic building, it has recently been taken over by theatre professionals Louise Morris and Matthew Scott, and re-created as a performance hub. It is unique within our regional area, providing a desperately needed resource and platform for independent performing  artists. Working here has made ANOTHER EXTINCTION possible - big thanks to Navigate Arts.
